Hey, Star Trek Elite Force 2 is coming out if not out already. That looks like a sweet game. Haven't play the 1st in the series yet. That bridge commander game looks pretty wild as well. Haven't heard of Star Fleet Command 3 yet, so I guess I'll need to do a little research, unless of course someone would care to enlighten me on the subject -- Nem

Now that I have gotten your attention, lets begin... I have played Dungeon Siege & have enjoyed it quite a bit, especially during multiplayer. Now I'm done with it & looking for something else. I keep hearing about this game called Neverwinter Nights, but have yet to play it. I would like to hear from all of you who have played it & let me know what this game is like & if it's worth my time. I'm not much of an RTS player ( but I was impressed w/ WarCraft3 ), but these types of games do tend to draw me in. So let the posts begin & enlighten me!!! -- Nem

Hmmm... this is a post that could go on & on w/ the pros & cons of both sides never backing down. Having a list of what will be played at what time may or may not solve any issues since people tend to change their minds on what they are in the mood for at any given time. I know I'm guilty of it on a number of occassions. The lan parties that we are going to at this time simply aren't big enough for something of that nature to be in effect. If this were something where we had like 24+ people at any given time, then maybe it would be appropriate, maybe not. (Post edited by Bobsbrat) As it is, Bob does a good job at letting people know what he has in store for them with the lan party emails. What I think would greatly help him out, not to mention us, the gamers, is when a new lan party invite is handed out via email, why not all who want to attend come here to the NTAC board & post what we would like to play & the games we have. When the lan party is a day or two away, we could vote on what is going to be played and/or just make it know that alot of games are going to be up & running & feel free to jump into whatever floats your boat at the time. As it stands, the way things work right now seem to be just fine, barring some of the network issues that have recently cropped up w/ some people being able to see games & play while others can't, even though everyone is wired to the same network. This is a mystery that I hope is solved soon. -- Nem

I haven't been keeping up w/ UT lately since getting a PS2, so now I guess I have to start getting back into the swing of things. I don't even have the latest patch yet. -- Nem

Hmmm... I just had a thought. The PS2 requires a network adapter while the xbox has one built in, so that may cause a problem w/ people wanting to try & network their PS2's. I believe the going price is around $40 for a network adapter for a PS2?? That's on thing I like about the Xbox is that it is network ready & comes with a built in hard drive. The games haven't really done anything for me yet w/ the exception of Halo. -- Nem

This is strange, I thought I put a post up here already regarding console lan parties but it appears to have vanished. Oh well. I'm definitely up for console lan parties. It would give me a chance to possibly see what an Xbox is all about if someone has one & brings it along. -- Nem

As for Pauls issue w/ the Sim game, the card was probably embarrassed to be playing it, so naturally it gives him issues to encourage him to move onto bigger & better games!! -- Nem

Hmmm... I'm only running an ATi Radeon 8500 & have yet to have any issues w/ it no matter the game I play. Unfortunately, this is a subject that can be talked about for ages on end w/ neither side backing down. Each card has their pros & cons. It's ultimately a matter of what U feel comfortable with in the end. I know people who are just like me & haven't had any issues w/ ATi cards, while there are those who do. nVidia definitely has a solid driver dbase, but ATi is now back into the swing of things and is doing an excellent job w/ their drivers as well, whereas 2 yrs ago they weren't any competition to nVidia at all. Times are changing & only time will tell. I myself would not hesitate throwing my $$$ into an ATi card. -- Nem

Hmmm... good question. I'm not into RTS games like Warcraft since they take forever & a year to play, especially when the more U have playing the harder it gets, but they are cool games nontheless. I definitely favor racing/combat flight sim games. Of course there's Neverwinter Nights, that's a very cool looking mutliplayer dungeons & dragons type game. Team based games are usually fun. Mutators are definitely a good thing, except for that blasted Relic of Vengence that Bobsbrat tends to pick me off with. I suppose this means I'll just have to pick U off from a distance & watch U blowup in bits & pieces all by your lonesome I'm looking forward to the Mutators that are going to come out for UT 2k3, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Bobsbrat's favorite relic as one of them too. As for U B.ob., we'll, there's really no excuse for U

Just in case U were wondering about the FONT thing, my son is here helping me w/ my posts & likes it when I use the larger fonts. Nite all.

As for which game is better, each offers their own flavor to the mix, making it hard to choose. UT1 still seems to run faster that UT2, and there's also more stuff out for it as well. UT2 on the other hand offers more graphical polish & the weapons upgrades are pretty nice. I especially like what was done w/ the Translocator & Redeemer.

I would have to say that Capture the Flag is more enjoyable. Team Last Man Standing is also very good as well.

Does Bob ever truly do work when he's at work? I think not. This may be cause for a new Topic though

That's a no brainer... naturally ATi is the better of the 2 video cards
