I got an ACer laptop for Christmas. I have been having a lot of trouble trying to get the wireless
to work with a few distros. OpenSUSE 11.4, Sabayon, and a couple others. I am not an expert in
Linuw to figure this out. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing.
I can give you a hand. What kind of wireless chipset is it? And what is the model/type of Acer laptop.

I have an opensuse machine that I am setting up for a dedicated server to play tf2, hl2dm, l4d2, and cstrike. I haven't created one before but the server runs and I can join the games.
Any suggestions or tips?
Forget it. I have enough trouble *Trying* to run my own server... You're on your own!!!
:-)
I haven't played enough Tf2 or HL2DM to make any suggestions. How about just figure out how to tweak the physics so we can have low-grav, crowbar-only, high-speed matches and such...? I cant think of anything more absurd than flying through a stage with 20% gravity, 175% speed, chasing each other with shock sticks and crowbars...
Hey, your server was running good at the last LAN party.
I finally figured out why my games weren't showing up in the LAN tab yesterday. Had to update iptables to allow the UDP ports. Oh CSS, HL2DM, and TF2 show up but L4D2 still doesn't, can connect through the console though. The low gravity and speed settings sound cool, I will try that out.

Hey, would it be possible to post the list of games everyone put down as their top 3. And prioritize them based off the number of mentions. That would be pretty cool and then I could purchase the game(s) before the LPE.

Most familiar with Opensuse. Played around with Ubuntu too. Also run a FreeNAS box which is based off FreeBSD I think.
