    The title adds melee combat to the award-winning L4D style of play, with items such as a chainsaw, frying pan, axe, baseball bat, and more.

     

    Introducing the AI Director 2.0, L4D's dynamic gameplay is taken to the next level by giving the Director the ability to procedurally change weather effects, world objects, and pathways in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match the players' performance. The result is a unique game session custom fitted to provide a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience each time the game is played.

     

     

     

    Finally, with new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons, and items, Left 4 Dead 2 offers a much larger game than the original with more co-operative campaigns, more Versus campaigns, maps for Survival mode at launch, and more.

     

     

    Setting:

    Left 4 Dead 2 is set at roughly the same time as the original – just after the outbreak that turned most of the population into various zombie mutants. Players assume the role of 4 new “Survivors,” each with their own personality and new dialog. The game leads these “Survivors” through the southeastern region of the US - from Savannah, Georgia thru the bayou country, and climaxing in New Orleans’ French Quarter.

    * Next generation co-op action gaming from the makers of Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress and Counter-Strike.

    * AI Director 2.0: Advanced technology dubbed “The AI Director” drove L4D’s unique gameplay – customizing enemy population, effects, and music, based upon the players’ performance. L4D 2 features “The AI Director 2.0” which expands the Director’s ability to customize level layout, world objects, weather, and lighting to reflect different times of day.

    * New melee weapons – axe, chainsaw, frying pan, baseball bat – allow you to get up close with the zombies

    * Four different survivors. New Story. New dialogue.

    * More game. On day one, L4D 2 features more co-operative campaigns, more campaigns and maps for the Versus game modes than L4D 1, plus support for Survival mode out of the box.

    "Phenomic’s online RTS for free – for a price. And that price is free. Just what the heck is going on here?!

     

    It works like this: BattleForge is an RTS game in which you buy trading cards that act as your in-game units. The original strategy was to get people to buy the game, and then purchase more trading cards online to flesh out their arsenal. But just two months after the game was released Electronic Arts are trying a different strategy, allowing gamers to download a free-to-play version of the game featuring 32 of the 200 cards available. Pretty smart, huh?

     

    The “Play 4 Free” version of the game also includes all of the community features and scenarios of the retail game, as well as the recently launched Renegade campaign in its entirety. While this might irk some gamers who already paid for the game, the influx of new gamers to play against is certainly a good thing, making this a win-win situation for RTS fans.

     

    In today’s announcement Electronic Arts were also quick to mention its “Play 4 Free” version Battlefield Heroes, which is currently in closed beta. Is this a new trend for Electronic Arts? Will “Play 4 Free” games replace traditional demos? Will Electronic Arts ever try a free console version of one of its games? Only time will tell – until then, try out BattleForge, or you’ll really hurt EA’s feelings…"

    OK! Now that LPE v13 has passed it is time to focus more on the event of all events in the area. MASSIVELAN 2009! We really need everyones help on this one to make it the biggest and best event to date.

    Bad news, I'll be in Orlando that weekend.... oh wait... Good news lol, now where are my shorts and t-shirts... ;-)

     

     

    First Bob is out and now you. Bob's excuse is better as he has a doctors note :P

     

    oh well the show must go on... ...since we will be short handed for setup and one looking to show up early and help set up is more the welcome.
