    PAYDAY - The Heist

    I've only come across 2 issues so far... it initially crashed back to the desktop on me when I 1st launched the game. To fix this, I simply closed off Steam & then ran the game using the shortcut for it, which forced Steam to run & that corrected it. The other issue is that I can't pause the game, I push the ESC key & the menu shows up but U can clearly see the game still running in the background. These issues are supposed to be addressed in the upcoming patch.

     

    Other than those 2 issues, the game runs great for me & I'm enjoying it. It'll be a fun game to play @ a lan party.

    It is basically a L4D bank robbery... ...of course you can not pause a game based on time and multiplayer. I am really surprised Valve has not come up with every 4 player co-op or in this case it would work as a good 8 player co-op with bigger heists.

    Payday: The Heist is a phenomenal game backed up by an engaging team of developers who have been really busy helping out people on the forums with whatever issues they come across.

     

    The game may run smoothly for you since there are really few issues that are needed to be addressed and with another patch, most of the things will get fixed but, if you still can’t resolve any of the issues below, you can try these workarounds.

    The analysis from Gamasutra shows that while the PlayStation 3 and Wii both dropped in average retail prices (by roughly $40 and $8 respectively) between July and September, the Xbox 360 actually rose from $280 to $306. This is $35 higher than the PS3's average price of $271 as of September. "Compared to its closest competitor, Microsoft is selling 12,000 more systems per week and at a $35 higher price," the analysis concludes.

     

    The average price is determined by how many of each model is sold at retail, and Microsoft has an advantage in that department. While Microsoft offers a lower-priced model at $199, its Kinect bundles at $299 and $399 have sold well. Given the popularity of the peripheral, these are probably responsible for driving up the average unit price.

     

    American gamers are not only willing to pay more for Xbox 360, but they're also willing to pay for Xbox Live, which adds an annual $60 fee on top of console ownership.

    MassiveLAN 2011, July 8th - 10th 2011

    Join WNY Gamers Club @ MassiveLAN 2011 (MLP 0'11)

     

    WNY Gamers Club will be joining the festivities known as MassiveLAN once again for the 2011 season. If you missed previous years, you missed out on great weekends. If you made it out you know what I am talking about. There are some great changes coming to the event again this year with this being the 8th year . So signup @ massivelan.com and stay tuned. Tournaments are are already posted and are as follows.

     

    Starcraft 2

    Our beta tournament was a big hit, and we will continue to do 1v1 bracket style SC2 tournament this year. Prizes should be available for 1st and 2nd place for this tournament. This tournament will first round single-elim, followed by double elim.

     

    Killer Instinct

    That's right. Old school SNES Killer Instinct. Winner of this tournament will be taking home a NES/SNES combo system for your old school gaming needs.

     

    Counter-Strike: GungameAlways a good time, gungame will be making yet another appearance this year. Winner will be determined after 5 continual rounds of gungame. Prizes for at least 1st place, hopefully 2nd.

     

    The FPS Triathlon

    This year's team-based FPS is going to be a triathlon of some classic FPS. The triathlon is broken into 3 rounds, each with it's own rules and scoring. Not getting into too many details:

    - Round 1: Battlefield 1942: Desert Combat

    - Round 2: Unreal Tournament, Game of the year edition (1999)

    - Round 3: Left 4 Dead (original)

     

    July 8th - July 10th at Erie County Fairgrounds (Expo-Hall) in Hamburg, NY

     

    Start Time 08 July 2011 9:00am

    End Time 10 July 2011 5:00pm

     

    ** This will be taking the place of WNYG's July 2011 LPE Event.
