    MLP'012

    When?

July 6th, 7th, 8th. Doors open at 9am Friday. Cleanup will be 5pm Sunday.

    Where?

At the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg, NY. THIS YEAR IS DIFFERENT FROM LAST YEAR. We will be at the old casino building. We will have a map and a photo gallery of the building soon!

    Games

For a list of what games we are playing this year click here.

    What you NEED to bring:

    • Your computer (don't forget all the cables, mouse/keyboard, HEADPHONES!).
    • An ethernet cable (we have some they will be first come first serve)
    • A signed waiver form, all ages, (under 18 section inside this pdf please read carefully!)

    What you SHOULD bring:

    • Bring a chair! you will be sitting for up to 3 days bring something comfortable.
    • Change of clothes! (there will be available shower stalls at the fairgrounds!)
    • Money for food, drink, etc... we will have someone on hand for a few meals over the weekend at reasonable prices... burgers, hotdogs, that sort of thing.
    • Something to sleep on... there are carpetted floors but feel free to bring a sleeping bag/air mattress. Wake up is 9am whether you like it or not.

    Changes from last year

    • Our signup list requires pre payment. We simply had too many people sign up on the list and not bother to show up. This messes with our pre-planning so we ask that you pay in advance.
    • To help allow for those of you with larger monitors or multiple display setups, we are asking an extra $10 (prepay and at door). As we have limited space and power this allows us to help compensate and get extra tables for those of you with larger needs. This also gets you a half a table of space instead of one third.

  3. Epic showcases Unreal Engine 4's dynamic lighting, fast iteration capabilities

"f the widespread adaptation of this generation's UE3 is any indication, this new engine will serve as the foundation for many games across many platforms, from Epic as well as external engine licensees."

"The user interface is more flexible in UE4 as well, with dockable modules. As revealed last month, it implements the visual scripting editor Kismet 2, allowing even non-programmers to build interactive scenes by converting code that determines in-game objects' behaviors into interactive flowcharts with pull-down menus."

After reducing the size of its players to a mere hockey puck, it has now managed to fit all the necessary hardware into this tiny dongle, that plugs into the HDMI port of MHL-compatible HDTVs. Mobile High-Definition Link ports, were intended for users to hook up their mobile phones simply for control and charging all-in-one, but also powers this unit which packs WiFi and all into one tiny package and can even be controlled by the TV's remote.

We have spots for 35 to 45 so let us know you're coming to guarantee one. Normally this would be a LPE but we have been working out the logistics on a new location. So this will be the test LAN for the new location. This will be a free LAN, as such we will not be providing food or drinks. Food can be purchased from kitchen down stairs from the hall if you would like. We will be have a 50/50 drawing for cash and steam games. Again this LAN will be totally free. Thanks!

  7. Finally got DualWAN running and will have it up for this LAN. 25/25 FIOS and 30/5 TW running on a Cisco RV042 DualWAN Router, they finally fixed the firmware. Load Balancing and dual IPs works very well also. :) So expect speeds like this

So does this mean that your network is more friendly towards 360's now unlike last lan where the connection kept dropping to them?

I do not own a 360 and could not tell ya. Was using that POS Time Warrner Ubee Modem/router though to give out IPs (as they will not activate a Surfboard for Wideband customers), do not think it can handle the traffic from more then 2 or 3 devices at a time and if you were using TWs DNS (which we all no sucks) I do not know what to tell you. :P

  8. 'Modern Warfare 3' tops Nov. game sales

    http://content.usatoday.com/communities/gamehunters/post/2011/12/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-3-tops-nov-video-game-sales-/1

Sales of video games themselves rose 15% accounting for $1.67 billion, compared to $1.45 billion last November.

The month was the top November ever for sales of video games, surpassing November 2008, she said. Leading the way, Modern Warfare 3 sales surpassed first-month sales of last year's Black Ops by about 7%.

A 15% rise in video game sales counters theories that mobile and social gaming is hurting the industry. "What we are seeing is if you release quality content, the consumers will come," he says. "I think that is the clear message here. November had some of the best releases we have seen in over five years and the consumers have responded. What mobile and social gaming has done is make console consumers more conscious and more diligent in what they buy. No longer are we seeing consumers buy a game because the packaging looks good or it sounds like a good game. Now, because there is so much other competition for our time, consumers are saying you have to prove to us it's a good game before we buy it."
