  4. A large number of 1700+ chips are unlocked up to 12.5 multiplier and run fine @ 133FSB or higher. Just upgraded an older 950Mhz Duron system with one of these chips from newegg.com for $42 plugged in and set it up 12.5 * 133FSB 1.666Mhz with no problems, can not go any higher as the system only has SDRAM. CPU is running @ 40c which is right in line with the speed. I have seen others run these chips @ 12.5 * 166Mhz 2075Mhz and 10 * 215 FSB 2150Mhz on newer boards without a hitch. :P

There is alot of info about these chips on the web. Anyone looking for a cheap fast upgrade (no formating required) might want pick up one of these CPUs.

  5. To put the NICs to the real test.

    1) Connect them with a cross over, direct to each other.

    2) Set system1 to 100Mb then test, leaving system2 auto

    3) Repeat, set system1 to 1000Mb then test, leaving system2 auto

    4) Repeat, set system1 to auto then test, leaving system2 auto

This should give true results for your testing

  6. Well I suggested that the forums needed a Case Mod Section and *BAM* they got one. Also out of no where I was selected to head it up... Oh well guess things could be worse, so here is my piss poor excuse.

  7. I have a 9500 Pro and had issue with some games just dropping me back to the desktop. Funny thing is it was only games that had nVidia startup logos. Installed the latest Catalyst drivers... v3.2 fixed this issue...
