Interesting article that I found...
Closing Access to Information Technology - Technological changes, coupled with deregulation, may soon radically limit diversity on the Internet.

I will be working on that tonight... got both systems formated and XP installed... Time to get down with the BF server installation... Will IM you tonight if I got it up and running to give you my IP so you can test it out...

I thought the same thing. But there are subs when playing some of the levels that take place in the Pacific and just like real subs you can not see any thing once under water lower then the periscope so you have to rely on sonar which is kind of boring unless you have max (64) ppl playing, which makes for a lot of boats and other subs to target. So looks like we need to get a 64 person LAN party scheduled.

New SATA drive is in and works great... Can see a noticeable improvement over IDE... Besides speed, I can not hear it at all, which kind of freaks me out... like when I am waiting for the drive to do a hard read, nothing and then it starts coping... Now if I could just get all my fans to push 75CFM @ 25dB...

Make sure to get the Battlefield 1942 Dedicated Server Manager 2.0 Utillity. Makes it much easier to manage a BF server as there is no GUI that is included from EA.

Well it was coming along fine until my IBM 20Gb Deskstar drive decided that the bois should no longer be its master of detection and went into stealth mode. Drive spins up but is not detect in the bios anymore, went to IBM’s site for warranty replacement, website redirected to Hitachi, big lettered announcement that Hitachi DID buy IBM’s drive division but was not obligated to honor their warranties and to contact IBM with a link back to the same IBM webpage that directed me to Hitachi. So I ordered a new drive, as I was tried of being a tennis ball in the IBM vs. Hitachi match up. Hoping to have the server up sometime this coming weekend right after the LAN @ Bobs.

The drive that I link to is the same I do believe... It's only 8x currently on the +RW side and still 4x -RW side. But I think that this will change rapidly. to higher speeds...

I found a "Jim" with musical tastes straight out of the 80's and a "Mark" with no musical taste.

Just ordered a Seagate SATA 120MB drive... Hoping that it will show some improvment over my WD 80MB SE Drive... Going from ATA100 to SATA150 should, we shall see. Anyone else already have a SATA drive and if so is it really better or is it all hype? Guess I will find out soon enuff!

Plextor 8X DVD-RW +RW DVD Recorder
Had to throw this one out at you B.Ob. as I know you like Plextor drives... Plextor seem to be the first with a low cost 8x, but it's only on the +RW side... the war is on....

Interesting how all these benchmarks matter at all on BETA software. Last time I checked BETA meant preproduction and should NEVER represent the finish product...

May or may not have an issue... What type of RAM is it... PC2100 (133Mhz) at min should be able to run at PC2400 (150Mhz) Speed... If not, on the NF7 board the multiplier is unlocked, so you can always raise that to make up for it until you can get some new RAM... Serveral examples: 11*166=1826(stock) 14*133=1862Mhz (OC w/ 133FSB) 12*150=1800 (OC w/ 150FSB). I currently am running 11.5*202=2323Mhz w/ corsair XMS PC3200.. Hope this was helpful!

Well, they are Kanji for "Powerful Honda" You really can not make it out to well from the pics. Cut them out with a Dremel and serveral different types of bits.

About as much as I am going to do at the moment... Time to work on getting a BF Server up and running!
