I have been playing around with NFS - Underground and the multi-palyer LAN patch. Works pretty well, planning on busting it out @ the LAN Saturday if that's ok with B.O.b.
See ya there!

Just curious, you're looking for DVD-R or DVD+R discs?
Does not matter! Heard -R is widely implemented in to Home DVD units though.

Seems from the cards that I have found so far to be only 3 different chips that are being used.
-
I am seeing a pattern here:
Aopen AOG-501K (Same Chip LanReady)
EDIMAX EN-9230TX-32 (Same Chip LanReady)
ZONET ZEN3300E (Same Chip LanReady) (In fact same card as above)
Linksys EG1032 (Same Chip as Trendware/Trendnet)

*TEST EDIT* now that the new router is in place... same. Grrrr
Plug it directly into the router, instead of the SMC switch. It seems to work like it should *gasp* 3 edits in a row, and no time outs!
It's not the switch is it? try unpluging the switch to reset it. Not like it make a diffence now that you got the other one on the why, but just an idea.

Ok I got a the drive on order, now I am looking around for place to get media. Any ideas? Any body locally carry DVDR Media for a good price? Or any places online that got the killer deal?

I eat Shells & Cheese...
Those are always good too!

I see the differences now
Intel Pro/1000 MT
LanReady LA-1000
Trendware/Trendnet Gigabit TEG-PCITXM
Most sites now do not even list the 2 chip design anymore, looks like all the manufactures switched to the 1 chip design.
Netgear still kept the heatsink though...
NETGEAR Gigabit GA302T

Looks fine to me, with the exception of the right side of the frame bouncing in and out a little, with a white line over on the right for a few frames... Might be cool to just see his head if it was shrunk down....
His avatar sux, cuz he only shows up to LANs so ppl can leech from him and to bring the network to a crawl. I think he has meet his match at our LANs we have been pulling out the 10/100/1000 for more then a year and we our proud of it.
Damn it's almost been a year and a half since I got my 1st switch and made B.Ob. see the light.
Now I am just thinking back, the 1st LAN that I busted out with the GB, Bobsbrat registered this domain.

LanReady 10/100/1000Mbps 32-bit PCI Ethernet Adapter for $20 shipped.
Looks to be the same chip and design as the Intel for 2/3 less of a price. Still looking for some more info on it.
Can only find the Data Sheet from the manufactures web site. No reviews yet.

I'm having a voltage problem with the fan for the north bridge on my mobo so...
If its a voltage issue, try plugging the fan into the PS. I have 3-4 pin adapters if you need one. I'll be in town in the next day or 2.
That's no problem Wargasm. Its no big deal to me. I'll be getting the NF-7 at the end of Feb. so just as long as it lasts till then, which it should. I've got one more 40mm fan to go just in case.

Spend the extra $2 to $5 bux and get the Abit AN7

I saw this on Anandtech forums. You guys are closer than me, so pick me one up while your there.....no not all of you, I only need one
When I checked on the web its stating
"Amherst (Buffalo) Superstore Available For Pick-Up? NO"
and it's $29 with a $10 rebate... still a good deal, one of the guys here at work got the same router back a few months ago...

Can anyone here say VESA Local Bus?
"A VLB slot is a 16-bit ISA slot with third and fourth slot connectors added on the end. The VLB normally runs at 33 MHz, although higher speeds are possible on some systems. Since it is an extension of the ISA bus, an ISA card can be used in a VLB slot"
Sounds alot like PCI-X, VBL only lasted on Mobo's from '93 to' 94. and then PCI took over. Only time will tell if PCI-X takes off.
I thought AGP would never last, I think that you might see both slot on boards for awhile, but you never know.

I'm running 2 of them, the NF7 for the game server, and the NF7-S for my system.
I think PurSuit had issues with BIOS 19. and I'm curious about the "Updated SATA BIOS to version 4.2.43.", thinking maybe the Serillel 2 adapter might work properly now for my CDRW and DVD drive.
Hey Dragon, do the capacitors look ok? None of them bloated or leaking?
Yeah I had issues with 19 on my rev 2.0 board and now I am running 20. Dude that sit next to me at work has rev 1.2 of the board and he had to reinstall his OS after appling ver 21, he has gone back to 18. Wonder if that was cuz it updates the sata controller!?!?!

Here's a good read for those of us who aren't ALL that familiar w/ the upcoming 8x AGP replacement. It's called PCI-X & it looks really good. U can read all about it by clicking HERE.
Now the question I face is should I hold off on getting an 8x AGP ATi Radeon 9800 Pro in favor of this OR just bite the bullet & get it & sit back & watch the impact pci-x has on the market along w/ the cost involved in it?? Decisions, decisions.
Happy reading.

PCI-X will require you to upgrade everything... Muhahah!

Oh whatever!!! See what happens when I post & I'm not fully awake yet!!

You must be 1/2 asleep all the time, now that explains everything!

Its always easier when someone else does it.
Eh, I could just see the thing crapping out after a hour or so and we all would freeze to death.

Nothing really to crap out, even without electric we got fire, might burn the place down. Hey at least we'd still be warm.

This Card is the one that supposedly can be OC'd to a 9700Pro but with 256Mb.
SAPPHIRE RADEON 9600 Video Card 256MB
Current Price $125 with free ship...

Now the question is should I upgrade to an AMD64 bit system OR just stick w/ the 32 bit system for now??
-- Nem
Your system is fine... a new vid card would be nice, but thats all that is really necessary. If you were single, then I'd say shoot the works!
I agree, think you would be fine if you upgraded your vid and waited till the AMD64 go down in price.

Henry installed the furnace for nothing...slacker.
It's not a furnace, it's a cast iron stove that burns wood, which has been working great. Issue with having it at my house on the 17th was that I have driving skewl that day until 4pm and will not be home untill around 5pm. So we could have had it that day but it would have started at like 5 or 6pm, not good... Just worked out easier for BoB to have one.

Alcatraz Island, San Francisco MAP and v1.5 coming soon...
You know Pursuit, instead of just throwing this link up here & that being that, YOU could always tell us a little about it. It does looks interesting but some friendly "feedback" does help out. Is this thing even worth the download??
-- Nem
OK you have a cable modem right? Cuz all I hear is how much of a waste ot time downloads for you are.
