I have learned two new things playing the past two weeks.
GTA V is the only game i have ever been called a "Whore - Whore", ---Cant help it. I had a bus, they all got in.
And despite what common sense would lead you to believe, Launching an infernus[fast car] into a hovering helicopter doesn't end well for the infernus

I signed up. Do you think we could make some flyers and post them at places like Best Buy and EB games? I wonder if there is any other Buffalo specific forums that we could post this at? I also wonder if we could post this around UB? I know there are tons of poster boards that we could run around and through them up on.I posted this in a old UB forum that some poeple still visit and a salt water reef fish forum that I frequently visit. I know there are a few gamers on there.
Anyone get back to you? I think its a good idea but i'm not an organizer... Ill ask.

Yeah, i suck at hosting servers. This time around ill have a maplist defined to see if it cycles properly.
Im with WarZ, it would be nice to have a game to fall back on if you get left out of the L4d Server. Or if you run XP and dont have DX10 to run Shattered Horizons

That dictator who calls himself Techboy usually charges 20-$35 at the door depending on who you are. If you are cool, he will usually sneak you in for less than $30. Some people he just doesn't like, and wont let in at all...
~~Kidding.
Its free, everyone just kicks in for food (if you want food) and byob (or equivalent).
I know Tecboy is at chow with M1key and Pursuit now so will probably see this post on his phone. Then i will get a ear-full tomorrow morning...

I'm new to your LAN group--never been to a party, just been lurking for a while. I think I'll come. What games are popular with your group? I didn't see a list and wanna pre-install some stuff.
UT2004/UT3, SupCom, Killing floor, L4D, Crysis....
Or is this more like a 'bring everything' type of thing?
If it's fun, I can probably bring some of my little 4-man crew to the next one.
Pretty much just bring whatever. Lately l4d has had pretty good representation. Usually if something is new someone will be able to set you up.

Then again, considering how many of us there are, compared to people who don't even think of such issues, it's doubtful that IW really care. We're probably less than %5 of their potential market, and even then, I'd bet that %80 of the people who care about the issues we're discussing will still buy it anyways. That turns us into a %1 audience which IW can afford to ignore. Just a sad fact, ya know?

You can just ask Techboy about me ranting at work about how it used to be better in the "old" days. Im talking like pre 2003. When getting a lan game to work was a challenge... And after spending 2 hours setting up IPX, rebooting PCs, installing picky NIC drivers, Ventrillo, Teamspeek - - - - - - You played the game, not because it was good, but because it took so f-ing long to set up.... And everyone enjoyed it! Now this crap of automatching game servers, games that install loaders and preloaders, Games for windows, autoupdates, *cough* STEAM *cough*, Everything is server side. No game settings to tweak (ok Valve still has the hang of this), no client trust, no trust that the person in the chair may actually know what to do.
Companies say "Hey were opening the market, people who couldnt play games before are now playing games".
-> I say if you couldnt figure that out, i dont want to play with you anyway.
