Since Bioshock is out today

Recommended Posts

Eh, its not about graphics anyway. The game could look like SS2 and I'd still play it. Its all about the gameplay man. B)

BioShock Gameplay Performance

"Developing a series of performance tests for BioShock will especially benefit those who are in the process of evaluating graphics hardware for a new system build or a system upgrade."

Yeah, the lame ass wide screen support sucks. Glad I'm not running one yet. I'm sure with all the bitching on the forums, 2K will patch it in, but it should have been there from the start.

It runs great on my pc. Every now and then I get a hicup but its never when it matters. I get smooth fps all the time. I really haven't seen a difference between Dx9 and 10 with screenshots, maybe my eyes are going. Hopefully we'll have someone at the next lan with Dx10 and the game and we can compare side by side.

Here's a fix

Fixing Widescreen "bug" & regular 4:3 FOV (Field of View):

Download Racer_S's FOV tool - http://dl.tocaedit.com/bioshockdFOV.zip

1)Here's the numbers for BOTH sliders for Widescreen fix:

16:9 = 0.75 sliders

16:10 = 0.833 sliders

2)Devs of Bioshock used narrow FOV(75 degrees), in normal games like Half-life, Quake 3, UT2004 FOV is 90 degrees, so if u wanna correct that:

16:9 = 0.706 sliders

16:10 = 0.75 sliders

5:4 = 0.869 sliders

4:3 = 0.833 sliders

Results:

"Evolution of Bioshock" Hour Long Video

Got time? Google Video has an hour long presentation called the "Evolution of Bioshock", thanks Chris Kline. "It also includes never-before-seen footage of 3 of the early prototypes of BioShock, going all the way back to 2002."
