I hate signing up for shit. My sig is where I am at. I paid a little south of 4 for it. nice card but not a tremendo upgrade from the 7900gt despite mad more frames. U can get a 320mb version for 300 or less but it hurts u at higher rez and i have to play crazy res to be native (1920x1200). I was tempted by the GTX but that is just too expensive.

My new 8800 GTS - 9647 in 3dMark 2k6.

A nice 150 to 200 dollar graphics card would do wonders for you & likely hold you off till xmas time or later. Bad time to do the mega upgrade due to cost (x2 + mb+vga = $600+) and the fact new stuff is a couple of months away.

How much did the video card set you back?

I dig NHL & Madden. When a game comes up that I hate I play that instead.

I have been very intrigued by this board. You can upgrade cheaply & then keep upgrading with this board. It is a shame Nvidia bought ULI.

Man computer speed has slowed down. I have had my rig for well over a year and pull 12314 in 3dmark 2k3. Makes me think is it worth upgrading? Also play a game 3dmark is a lame benchmark :-)

I personally was not trying to give you a hard time. I think if you sold it as parts to the WNYG's you can get some good loot. I feel bad as evidently you have a money crunch situation. Some of those items would go real quick as parts. Also I am interested in some of the parts I just have no clue how much you would want for any of them.

I have a lot of gripes with this game. Really I have no problems with the core of the game. Great story good graphics etc. These are things that make me angry however: 1) I own the collectors edition. Without cracking it why do I need to use the CD? If I would have got the pure steam version I would not have to use the cd. 2) Who gave Valve the right to make me a bit-torrent client for their use 3) The stuttering with 6800's still exists. 4) Half-Life 1 source is a joke 5) Half-Life 2 MP really is on the cumminity. I am no fan of CS & was angry when I installed HL2 with no MP then the MP patch came out which was more a demo than anything. This was lame on Valve's part. 6) If you do not need steam to play once you initially setup why does it connect everytime I logon unless I use zone alarm to kill it. I hate a good game getting killed by so called "good ideas" that have nothing to do with the game & heavily tarnish the experience. Die Seam Die. Bring on Duke Nuke'm never :-)

The rule with computer parts is they are a VERY bad investment. Every 3 months you get roughly a 20% reduction is value. Also new technologies change things. Who would buy a 9800 pro 256 when a 6800gt or an x800 is the same price or just a bit more? You may get close to what you want as parts here. To get that price from the savvy WNYG's would be impossible for the whole system. What you need is a what I call a sucker. A novice who will need post support. They will pay more because they know no better & need extra help. You should maybe list all your parts & what you would like as a price?

I agree Doom3 was a major disapointment for me.

I really think Steam kinda sucks UNLESS they give you the hardcopy of the game too. I dont feel to confortable only having a downloaded copy for soo much loot.

What are the hot games you are really looking foward to?

I am happy & at the same time not sweating the new SLI. The boards with two pci express for graphics slots are unavailable & when you do run SLI it makes them run in an AGP mode. I think initially it will be heavily skewed towards "professional graphics". Same stuff us gamers get with more precision & thousand dollar price tags. that may be the hot ticket next year with dual core coming. Congrats by the way Bob :-)
