When U fire up your PS3 tonite, you will be required to download a new firmware, v3.61, in order to connect to the PSN. Once installed, you will be forced to change your password on the PS3 that you are normally active on for your PSN acct. That part isn't working yet but the firmware update is. It should be active sometime tonite as Sony is rolling out the new PSN across the nation one state at a time. Click on this LINK to see all the details.

Beginning Sunday, many PlayStation 3 owners found the PlayStation Network inaccessible, with the system giving them an error explaining that they wouldn't be able to connect. This by itself isn't a huge deal, as all online systems crumble from time to time. The bigger problem is that this glitch seems to be effecting the ability to play offline, single-player games, with reports that games like Heavy Rain are no longer functional. Seems to have something to do with the system's internal clock, a detail that Sony seems to back up.

"We’re aware that many of you are having difficulty connecting to the PlayStation Network this evening. Know that we have narrowed down the issue and have engineers working to restore service even as you read this. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, and genuinely appreciate your patience while we work to resolve this."

The company announced they will slash the price tag for the PS3's predecessor, the PlayStation 2, to $99. The discounted console will be available starting April 12.

Announced at a Sega press event in London today, prepare to welcome Aliens vs. Predator (only a working title, but you get the gist), which marks the triumphant return of developer Rebellion. A decade ago, they created a game with this same title; a game Sega is now calling "a legendary title that went on to define an entire generation of multiplayer gaming." Details on this new project are a little hazy, but from what we can gather, it's definitely part of the Aliens and AvP series of games.
